Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold
The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold is available at City Hub Electronics, Nairobi. It opens to an 8-inch Super Actua Flex display and carries the Pixel creator suite, but the feature that matters most for creators is the second screen: Dual Screen Preview lets a subject see their own framing on the cover display while you shoot on the main rear camera.
Camera
The rear system is a triple array led by a 48MP Quad PD wide at f/1.70 with an 85 degree field of view on a 1/1.56 inch sensor. Google rates this generation at 56 percent better light sensitivity than the previous Fold, which is the specification that determines whether indoor and evening work is usable.
A 10.5MP Dual PD ultrawide with autofocus sits at f/2.2 across a 127 degree field of view, with Macro Focus for close work. The 10.8MP Dual PD telephoto at f/3.1 covers 23 degrees with optical image stabilisation and 5x optical zoom.
Super Zoom reaches 30x, with Google quoting optical quality output at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x and 10x. Multi-zone laser detect autofocus and a spectral and flicker sensor support the array, with optical plus electronic stabilisation on the wide and telephoto.
Two 10MP Dual PD front cameras at f/2.2 cover an 87 degree field, one on the cover display and one inside. In practice you rarely need them: Rear Camera Selfie lets you shoot yourself on the far better 48MP rear wide while previewing on the cover screen.
This is the folding form factor earning its keep. Dual Screen Preview shows the subject their own frame, Tabletop mode holds the phone half-folded for hands-free shots without a tripod, and Instant View shows the shot on the cover display the moment it lands.
Video Recording
Resolutions and Frame Rates
The rear camera records 4K at 24, 30 and 60fps and 1080p at 24, 30 and 60fps, with slow motion support up to 240fps. Dual exposure control is available on the wide camera and digital video zoom extends to 20x. The front cameras record 4K at 30 and 60fps.
Note that the Pro Fold does not record 8K. If 8K capture is a requirement for reframing headroom in post, the Pixel 11 Pro or Pro XL is the correct choice; the Pro Fold trades that ceiling for the folding display and the dual-screen shooting modes.
Supported formats are HEVC (H.265), AVC (H.264), AV1 and VP9, all of which drop straight into a standard editing timeline.
Stabilisation
Optical image stabilisation on the wide and telephoto is combined with fused video stabilisation, which blends optical and electronic correction rather than choosing between them.
Three named modes cover specific shots. Cinematic Pan stabilisation at 4K and 1080p slows a horizontal move into a controlled cinematic pan. Locked stabilisation at 4K and 1080p holds the frame as though tripod mounted. Active stabilisation at 1080p is the aggressive mode for walking and vehicle work.
Tabletop mode is the stabilisation feature unique to this form factor. Half-folding the phone turns it into its own support, which removes the tripod from a large share of static setups.
Colour and Dynamic Range
Video is captured in 10-bit HDR, giving a grade real latitude in highlights and shadows. Video Boost applies Google cloud processing to lift detail and reduce noise beyond what the on-device pipeline produces, and Night Sight Video extends usable capture into low light.
Real Tone processing runs across the camera system for accurate rendering of a full range of skin tones. Astrophotography timelapse and Night Sight timelapse cover long-exposure motion sequences, and 4K timelapse is captured with stabilisation applied.
Zoom, Framing and Capture Modes
Magic Capture takes video and stills together from a single tap. Rear Camera Selfie Video records you on the rear 48MP wide while the cover display shows your framing, which removes the usual quality compromise on pieces to camera.
Camera Coach offers framing guidance in app, Pro controls expose manual settings, Camera Looks apply styling at capture, and Macro Focus Video brings the autofocusing ultrawide into close-up motion work.
HiLight is new to this generation: an array of RGB LEDs in the camera visor glows to give you status at a glance without turning on a screen.
Power
A typical 4,806 mAh battery, rated at a minimum 4,658 mAh, delivers what Google rates at over 24 hours of battery life. Two displays and a folding mechanism make this the hardest device in the Pixel range to power, so the figure is honest rather than generous.
Wired charging reaches up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes using a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. Pixelsnap wireless charging is Qi2.2 certified up to 25W, which Google rates as 20 percent faster wireless than the previous Fold generation.
The magnetic Pixelsnap system attaches mounts, grips and battery packs directly, which is the practical way to keep a foldable powered while it is rigged on an arm or held open in tabletop mode.
Storage
All three configurations ship with 16GB of RAM: 256GB, 512GB with Zoned UFS, and 1TB with Zoned UFS. This is a difference worth noting against the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, where 16GB is reserved for the higher storage tiers.
Zoned UFS organises writes into logical zones rather than scattering them across the drive, which improves sustained write consistency during long recordings and keeps performance stable as the drive fills.
There is no microSD slot. Offloading runs over USB-C 3.2 to an external SSD, and the large inner display makes reviewing and culling a shoot before offload genuinely practical rather than a squint.
Editing
The 8-inch inner display is the reason to edit on this device rather than transfer first. Timeline work, masking and colour adjustments that are fiddly on a slab phone become workable on a screen this size.
Google Photos provides Edit with Ask Photos, which applies an edit from a plain language instruction. Auto frame recomposes, Resize and move subjects repositions elements, Sky styles restyles skies, and Magic Eraser, Best Take, Photo Unblur, Portrait Light, Portrait blur and Zoom Enhance are all available.
Gemini Intelligence, Gemini Nano and Gemini Live run on device, with Circle to Search and Live Translate system wide. A new sign-to-text feature, developed with the Deaf community, translates sign language into text in Live Transcribe and Gboard, using both screens for real-time two-way conversation. The phone launches on Android 17 with seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates.
Audio
The phone records stereo audio with speech enhancement for dialogue, wind noise reduction for outdoor capture, and audio zoom that tightens the pickup pattern as the lens zooms.
Audio Magic Eraser separates a finished recording into component sound layers, so traffic, wind or crowd noise can be reduced independently of the dialogue. On location work without acoustic control, it recovers takes that would otherwise be reshoots.
Three microphones with noise suppression handle capture, and stereo speakers with Spatial Audio handle playback. There is no 3.5mm jack, so external microphones connect over USB-C 3.2 or through a wireless transmitter.
Design and Build
Folded, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold measures roughly 6.1 x 3.0 x 0.4 inches. Unfolded it is about 6.1 x 5.9 x 0.2 inches, and it weighs 8.4 oz. Google describes this generation as thinner, lighter and three times stronger than the previous Fold, with a redesigned hinge and a more compact camera bar.
The cover glass is ultra-durable glass ceramic, the back is an ultra-durable composite in a matte finish, and the frame is satin finish spacecraft-grade aluminium. The hinge uses multi-alloy steel under an aerospace-grade high-strength aluminium alloy cover.
IP68 dust and water resistance is rated across the body, which is not a given on folding phones and matters for outdoor shooting. A fingerprint-resistant coating keeps the device presentable on camera.
The cover display is a 6.5-inch Super Actua panel at 1080 x 2342 in a 19.5:9 ratio, 399 ppi, with Smooth Display from 1Hz to 120Hz. The inner folding display is an 8-inch Super Actua Flex panel at 2076 x 2152, 372 ppi, on Ultra Thin Glass, also 1Hz to 120Hz. Both reach up to 2,000 nits in HDR and 3,600 nits peak with full 24-bit colour.
The aluminium in the housings is 100 percent recycled content, the device is made with at least 24 percent recycled materials by weight, and packaging is 100 percent plastic free. Colour options are Olive and Obsidian.
