Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra

Camera

For the first time in the history of the Z Fold line, a Samsung foldable no longer makes a camera compromise. The Z Fold 8 Ultra uses the same 200MP main sensor found in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, a large 1/1.3-inch sensor that resolves extraordinary detail in good light and handles low-light scenes with the help of Samsung’s improved Nightography. Backed by a dedicated ultra-wide and a telephoto lens, it is a genuine flagship camera system that happens to fold in half.

Main Camera Features

• 200MP wide main sensor (1/1.3-inch, F1.7) with OIS and 2x lossless zoom
• 50MP ultra-wide with a 120-degree field of view
• 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom

Photography

• Full-resolution 200MP HDR stills with exceptional detail
• Improved Nightography and Galaxy AI editing

Video Recording

The main camera records up to 8K at 30fps and 4K at 120fps, giving creators both cinematic resolution and high-frame-rate slow motion. Samsung’s updated ProVisual Engine noticeably improves stabilisation, noise reduction and colour, with the biggest gains in low-light video where foldables have traditionally struggled.

Video Features

This is the phone’s standout for serious creators. It supports the APV codec for higher-quality professional video, and a Cine LUT option lets you preview cinematic colour grades directly in Pro Video mode before you hit record, rather than guessing and fixing it in post. Combined with the large folding display, it lets you shoot, monitor and begin editing graded footage all on one device.

Front Camera Performance in Video Recording

• 10MP cover camera and 10MP inner foldable-display camera
• 4K 60fps front video on either screen

Power

A 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest ever fitted to a Z Fold, keeps the big 8-inch display running through a full day of shooting, editing and multitasking.

Battery and Charging Features

• 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery
• 45W wired charging (about 67% in 30 minutes) and 20W Qi2 wireless

Storage

Available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB with up to 16GB of RAM, with ample space for 8K footage and heavy multitasking on the large display.

Editing

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the expansive 8-inch screen make the Ultra a capable mobile editing surface, particularly well suited to reviewing and grading the APV and Cine LUT footage it captures, so a shoot can go from camera to near-finished on the same device.

Audio

Stereo speakers and a multi-microphone array deliver clear, well-balanced audio for calls, content and video, with directional recording that keeps voices crisp.

Design & Build

As the true successor to the Z Fold 7, the Ultra keeps the familiar taller aspect ratio but adds a redesigned hinge that opens more confidently and folds with less of a crease. At just 4.1mm unfolded and 215g it is the thinnest Galaxy Z Fold ever made, and it is built to last with an Armor Aluminum frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the front.

• 8.0-inch foldable main display, the thinnest Z Fold yet at 4.1mm unfolded
• Armor Aluminum frame; Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 and Victus 2
• Android 17 with One UI 9 and 7 years of updates
